Each year, about half of new Roosevelt students transfer here from other institutions. One of them is Phylicia Richardson, who left her comfort zone — and sunny Miami — to pursue new opportunities here at Roosevelt.
This spring, before Roosevelt shifted to remote learning, Phylicia joined President Ali to discuss her experience on campus. In just two short years, she got involved in organizations across campus, including the McNair Scholars program, which connects underserved students with research opportunities.
President Ali and Phylicia talked about her passions for industrial-organizational psychology, film and diversity. Phylicia also has some advice for prospective transfer students.
