It is with great regret that I announce the resignation of Sue Fay, Vice President of Human Resources, effective June 30, 2018. Sue will begin working in her new position as Executive Director of Human Resources at the College of Lake County in early July.
Sue has dedicated nearly 20 years of her career to Roosevelt University and has held multiple positions beginning as an associate director of human resources in 1998, interim director in 2005, assistant vice president in 2006, associate vice president in 2015, senior associate vice president in 2016, and ultimately culminating with her now current role as vice president.
Throughout Sue’s tenure at Roosevelt University, she accomplished myriad noteworthy initiatives and projects, including:
- Project manager for the first integrated employee database in Roosevelt’s history
- An expanded benefits portfolio to include supplemental life/AD&D insurance; long-term care insurance; vision insurance; pre-tax transit/parking; employee assistance program; and critical illness, accident and hospital plans
- A redesigned retirement benefit plan that included a new menu of investments, including funds that varied by asset class and investment firm, as well as a self-directed brokerage option; an additional 403(b) Roth option; and consolidation of recordkeeping under one vendor
- Increased online information availability through an employee/candidate benefits portal, RU Access employee services and a performance management tool
- Fostered a collaborative partnership with RAFO and its membership from the union’s inception in 2001
More importantly, however, is Sue’s tireless commitment to assist and serve all employees and their family members with questions, concerns, and professional and personal challenges. She devoted her time to ensure that all members of the Roosevelt community were treated fairly and always demonstrated a genuine kindness and caring manner. Please join me in thanking Sue for her tireless work in Human Resources over the past two decades.
Toyia Stewart has graciously stepped forward to assume the role of Interim Vice President of Human Resources effective July 1, 2018. Thank you, Toyia, for your continued service to the University.
Please join me in celebrating Sue’s nearly 20 years of service to Roosevelt at a reception on Wednesday, June 27, from 3–5 p.m. in the Sullivan Room.
