Kaitlyn Greenholt was named a 2020 Student Laureate of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois. The award recognizes outstanding seniors from colleges in Illinois who exemplify a “desire to make a difference in the world through civic engagement.” Read more.
Student journalists tell stories of 51 murdered Chicago women
Professor John Fountain and his journalism class reported on the lives of 51 women, mostly Black women, whose murders had gone unsolved by Chicago police. The project was featured on WGN News, the Columbia Journalism Review and People magazine. Read more.

As the only pharmacy student to win the 2020-21 Schweitzer Fellowship, Tanya Ghannam will help rebuild the relationship between health care providers and the refugee community in Chicago’s southwest suburbs. Read more.
Students solve real-world problems with design thinking
Professor Mei-Fen Chen’s international course walks students through how to turn a creative idea into a practical business plan through design thinking. Each year, the class asks students to solve a real-world problem. This year’s students tackled food waste. Read more.
A trustee’s transformative gift will support the next women leaders
With a scholarship named in honor of her mother and all mothers raising strong, successful women, Roosevelt University trustee Larissa Herczeg hopes to create new opportunities for future women leaders. Pharmacy students and faculty administer 10,000 COVID-19 vaccines
Lakers were among the first to administer the COVID-19 vaccine when doses arrived in Chicago in December. During rotations at Mount Sinai Hospital, Rush University Medical Center and other providers, students answered questions about side effects and gave thousands of doses. Read more.
