Women’s Leadership Holiday Event with Ngozi Ezike, MD

As director of the Illinois Department of Public Health, Dr. Ngozi Ezike has guided the state through the pandemic for the last nine months. During this unprecedented time, she has shown unwavering leadership and offered genuine solace.

Moderator:

Clarita Santos, is executive director of Corporate and Civic Partnerships for Health Care Service Corporation — the nation’s largest customer-owned health insurer, operating through its Blue Cross and Blue Shield® Plans in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Working for the Office of the President and CEO, she is responsible for strategic planning and advancing key initiatives focused on access to care.

Keynote Speaker:

Dr. Ngozi Ezike, is director of the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Dr. Ezike is a board-certified internist and pediatrician who previously worked for the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH), where she served for more than 15 years. She also was medical director at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center.

Prior to joining CCDPH, Dr. Ezike served as Austin Health Center medical director, where she actively engaged with the community on a variety of health initiatives. She also has delivered inpatient care at Stroger Hospital and primary and preventive care in community and school-based clinics.
