National Voters Registration Day & Technology Updates

FEATURED NEWS

National Voter Registration Day

September 22 is National Voter Registration Day, and we encourage you to take a moment to visit ALL IN To Vote to register as a new voter or to confirm your registration details.

To make this important event even more exciting, Roosevelt University is participating in a city and statewide campus voter turnout competition, the Chicago Campus Voting Challenge. By joining the Challenge, Roosevelt joins campuses across the city and state in cultivating the next generation of informed and engaged citizens who are essential to a healthy democracy.

All elections are important, so register, get educated and complete the challenge by actually voting. If you have questions or need more details, contact Meagan Jarmuz at mjarmuz@roosevelt.edu or Pamela Thompson-Hill at pthompsonhill@roosevelt.edu.

The American Dream Reconsidered Conference Recap

TECHNOLOGY UPDATES

Primary Email Usage

Roosevelt email addresses should be used for all University and academic communications moving forward. All RMUI email addresses and Google Drive will be disabled Wednesday, September 30.

Upcoming Changes to WiFi on Campus: 9/25

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve your data security, changes are coming to our WiFi networks. Beginning Friday, September 25, the “RUWIFI”network will no longer be available in academic spaces (floors 13 or below in the Wabash Building, and anywhere in the Auditorium Building or at Schaumburg). The “ruwireless” network will take its place in those areas and will be the only way to connect in the future. We encourage you to switch to using the “ruwireless” network now so that you do not experience any interruptions in your WiFi service.

To connect your laptop or desktop computer to “ruwireless,” please take the following steps:

  • Connect to the “ruwireless” wireless network.
  • Open your web browser and go to https://wifi.roosevelt.edu, which will take you to the enrollment portal.
  • Follow the steps on the portal to enroll your device.

Please note, if you are using a mobile device such as an iPhone, you should connect directly to the network called “RU_STUDENT_SECURE” or “RU_FACULTY-STAFF_SECURE.”

No action is required in the residential areas of the Wabash Building or if you are not on campus. If you have any questions, please open a help ticket.
