What’s better than a festival? A free festival! Here’s a list of some free festivals around Chicago that will keep you outdoors and entertained at little to no cost this summer.

If you’re interested the origins of summer festivals in Chicago, Roosevelt University offers a summer program called Sounds of Summer. The curriculum is on- and off-campus taught by a team of professors from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, the College of Arts and Sciences and the Heller College of Business. The program focuses on Old Town Art Fair, Chicago Pride Fest, and Chicago Blues Festival. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in event planning!
