Are You Looking to Give Back to Your Community? Volunteer with WITS this Semester and Make a Difference!

Roosevelt students and staff read with and mentor 4th & 5th-grade students during the school year. Students from Brownell visit Roosevelt on Tuesdays for an hour to get homework help, read books, and get to know a caring adult.

Program Details

  • Read with a 4th or 5th grader
  • Tuesdays end of January through end of April
  • AUD 320
  • 3:20-4:20
  • 1 semester commitment
  • First day is January 29

Working in the Schools (WITS) sets students on a trajectory for success by building critical literacy skills and developing positive self-identity through teacher-led professional development and volunteer powered mentorship programs.
