10 Things to Do in Chicago This Summer

Chicago is beautiful all year round, but it especially shines in the summer, with endless food and music festivals, music events, on-the-water activities and more. If you’re staying around the city this summer, here’s a list of things to do!

#1 Movies in the Park

One of the most popular is Movies in the Park, in which a number of parks open up their spaces at night for showings of some all-time classics and new blockbuster hits. Be sure to check back at the link above for 2018 dates and times!

#2 Street Festivals

#3 Local Farmers Markets

Variety of vegetable assortments in bags and boxesThere’s nothing better than biting into that fresh fruit or vegetable. Well, don’t delay — head on over to any of the local farmers markets and pick up some fresh produce!

#4 Beach Days

What better way to relax this summer than by spending the day at one of the many beaches here in the city. Chicago Park District offers activities around the waterfront such as volleyball, jet skiing and kayaking. If you’re looking for something less strenuous, just sit back, relax and enjoy the warm weather.

#5 Grant Park Music Festival

Head across the street from Roosevelt with your friends and enjoy a picnic while listening to great music from plenty of featured guests.

#6 Workouts on the Great Lawn

#7 Navy Pier
