Vincent Francone has taught at RU since 2009 and before that, he was a student here. He feels that working with honors students allows him to rethink his other classes, reshape them into more dynamic projects, and add more creative assignments. “I also love weaving experiential activities into these classes, which takes the learning out of the classroom. It’s one thing to talk in class, but it’s something else to find real world ways of applying course ideas. There’s a level of fun and experimentation that the honors program allows. I love that”, he says. When not working at Roosevelt, Professor Francone writes and edits. “Currently, I’m finishing up edits to an anthology of Chicago writing that will be published this fall. I hope to turn that experience into a literary journal that will feature more of the absurdist art I love.”
