Honors Exchange

The Roosevelt University Honors Program (RU Honors) hosts an annual Honors Exchange, a collaborative partnership with a peer institution and community establishments that includes intellectual, experiential, social, and local engagement.

The Honors Exchange spans the academic year, and students from both institutions (plus participating faculty) read and discuss shared texts on a specific topic and then meet in the spring for an interactive, day-long symposium on the theme topic. The exchange does not count for course credit towards a Roosevelt University degree; instead participants will earn 3 credits towards their Honors Program requirements. At the conclusion of the annual Honors Exchange, reporting will be completed through a group presentation at the Roosevelt Student Research Symposium in the spring.

The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)

The Honors Program matches students with Roosevelt faculty to work as research assistants on exciting projects across all disciplines at the university. This unparalleled academic and professional experience provides close faculty mentorship and hands-on research practice and offers a valuable window into the production of scholarly and creative work.

Newberry Library Seminar

Take advantage of this unique, 6-credit humanities seminar held at one of the finest private library collections in the world, working with students and faculty from Roosevelt University, DePaul University, Loyola University Chicago, and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Students work directly with the Newberry collection to produce and present original research projects.
