Artist Statement:

The following image is a poem created in response to exploring Humboldt park. To comment on
the space in which the place has been formed, the words have been arranged to represent the
street outline of the neighborhood. There is no right or wrong way to read this poem. Begin
where ever your eye is drawn as I began when first diving into the Puerto Rican place. It may
seem a little chaotic, but so does every place upon the first encounter. To truly understand, you,
as the reader, must walk through Humboldt Park one street at a time.
