Fall 2020 Athletic Competitions Postponed

Earlier this week, Roosevelt University announced its postponement of 2020 fall sport intercollegiate athletic competitions as the result of ongoing public health concerns related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Roosevelt University Postpones Fall 2020 Athletic Competitions To Spring 2021

Roosevelt University will postpone all 2020 fall sport intercollegiate athletic competitions as the result of ongoing public health concerns related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Roosevelt will begin work immediately to plan the resumption of competition in those impacted sport programs during the 2021 spring academic semester.

The fall championship sport athletic programs offered at Roosevelt University include football, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s volleyball. Various Roosevelt programs also compete in the fall but have their respective championships conducted during the winter and spring months. Continue reading

Updated Quarantine Guidance

Updated Quarantine Guidance

As we shared with you on Tuesday, July 21, the City of Chicago implemented an Emergency Travel Order that requires anyone entering or returning to Chicago from states experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases to quarantine for 14 days, beginning from the last contact within the identified state. Per the guidance, issued by the City on July 2, the quarantine process would begin after last contact with the impacted surge state. Due to the unique nature of higher education, the City has changed its position on when and how quarantine can occur.  Continue reading

ICE Policy Changes Impacting International Students

Dear Roosevelt Community,

On Monday, July 6, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced changes to student visa exemptions that require students with F-1 and M-1 visas to not take a fully online course load to enter or remain in the United States this fall. In light of the global pandemic, the timing and underlying intent of this policy change is uncaring, ill-conceived, and shows complete disregard for public health and safety.
