Special Education Teacher Job Description
Essential Function: A professional position with responsibilities in the area of planning and
implementing a therapeutic-educational program designed to benefit students with autism
and developmental disabilities in their academic, physical, social, emotional and intellectual
development, to the highest degree possible; supervised by Instructional Specialist and
School Principal.
Requirements: LBS I or LBSII endorsement

About the School: Esperanza Therapeutic Day School is part of a non-profit organization that provides individualized instruction for students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and developmental disabilities utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis and Structured Teaching. These approaches are used to develop academic, social, vocational, and life skills that help improve the students’ quality of life and help them reach their fullest potential as active members of their community. Currently, we have approximately 55 students in 6 classrooms with 1 special education teacher, 1 behavior therapist, and approximately 3 paraprofessionals in each classroom.
