Join a group of students who make recommendations to matters affecting students within the College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences. CHESSAC works directly with the Dean of the College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences to act on issues relating to academics and the student experience of CHESS students.
Become A Member
All students currently enrolled in a College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences program are welcome to apply after completing at least 12 credit hours at Roosevelt or another institution.

Represent Roosevelt
- Plan and attend events.
- Serve on student panels.
- Be an ambassador to the College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences.
- Work closely with the Dean and CHESS faculty.
A Bridge Between Students and Faculty
- Serve as a medium between students and
administration. - Actively seek solutions to student concerns.
- Create a forum for student ideas.
Qualifications for Joining
- Minimum GPA of 2.50*
- Must be enrolled as a student at Roosevelt University and be able to carry out council responsibilities during the entire academic year.
- Declared undergraduate major or minor within the College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences.
- Must have completed a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours.
- Must be in good standing with the university and the College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences, and hold their education in high regard.
* If an applicant has a GPA less than the requirement, they may submit a letter of recommendation addressing the student’s potential and reason for joining.
