Spring ’23 Lifeboat Debate

CHESSAC hosted their annual Lifeboat Debate Event, with a twist. This year’s debate not only included professors but student panelists! Professor panelists included Professor Bryson (Sustainability), Professor Ruth (Computer Science), Professor Frink (History), Professor Francone (English), Professor Coleman (Psychology), Professor Warner (Philosophy), and Professor Green (Criminal Justice).

Valentine’s Day Event with RU Gen Action

CHESSAC and RU Gen Action teamed up to host a fun Valentine’s Day event. Students had the opportunity to write valentines, eat, socialize, and learn about both organizations.

Involvement Fair

CHESSAC held a table at Involvement Fair inviting more CHESS students to join CHESSAC.

Movie Night

CHESSAC held a showing of the film, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” just in time for Halloween.

American Dream Conference

Volunteer at events throughout campus and have the opportunity to sit on a panel to answer questions.

 

 

 

Haunted Tour of the Auditorium

CHESSAC led tour of the Auditorium building with ghost stories from staff and faculty and a meet and greet at the end.

Trivia Night

Fun way to meet new people. Groups of your choosing face off in a game of trivia with questions ranging from Roosevelt to The Olympics.

Grad School A – Z

Roosevelt faculty and staff sat on a panel facilitated by Dean Bonnie Gunzenhauser to discuss graduate school with Roosevelt students.  They covered topics which included applying to graduate school, asking for letters of recommendation, finding the right school for you and more!

Service Event – CASSAC presents: Incarcerated Women’s Book Drive

Donation boxes were set up in CSI (WB 3rd Floor), the Wabash Lobby and the Michigan Ave. Lobby from Monday, April 8 to Friday, April 19.  We collected paperback books for Chicago Books to Women in Prison.

Karaoke Night

On Tuesday, April 16th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in WB 317 we hosted Karaoke Night! It was a couple of hours of “tone-deaf” joy and sweet, sweet stress relief! We had so much fun!
