The Online Teaching Academy (OTA) is a professional development program that includes an online course and face-to-face meetings that are designed to provide faculty with the knowledge and skills in the best practices of online teaching and course design. The content within the Online Teaching Academy was created by a collaboration between Roosevelt University faculty experts and Academic Technology professional experts in online course design. The design of OTA was intended to both model online teaching best practices as well as guide faculty in the process of designing an online course.
The Online Teaching Academy is recommended for all instructors who teach online courses regardless of online teaching experience.
The Online Teaching Academy runs once each semester (fall, spring, summer) and participants will work toward completing the design of a new online course. The Online Teaching Academy runs for 6 weeks with a once per week face to face (or Zoom) session with some additional tasks each week.
