The Threepenny Opera

The Theatre Conservatory presents the musical “The Threepenny Opera” with Book and Lyrics by Bertolt Brecht and Music by Kurt Weill. Performances will take place in the Patrick O’Malley Theatre Thursday, Oct. 5 – Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 8* at 2 p.m. For reservations, call at 312-341-3831.

“Bet you Mackie’s Back in Town!” So join us as the infamous Mack the Knife and a cast of colorful characters all plot and scheme to find the “next little dollar.” When “The Threepenny Opera” opened in Berlin in 1928 it caused a sensation, catapulting Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill to international fame. Songs like Mack the Knife and Pirate Jenny have made this musical satire one of the landmarks of 20th Century theatre.
